Magnesium Fluoride AR Coating
Single layer MgF2 coating is applied to substrate materials having an index of refraction in the range of 1.45-1.85 within the spectral range 200-1600nm.
Coating characteristics:
The extent of the reflectance reduction depends on the substrate refractive index.
For the typical crown glass with a refractive index of 1.52, the reflectance is reduced from 4.2% to the minimum value of 1.3% and for the flint glass with a refractive index of 1.85, the reflectance is reduced from 8.9% to the minimum value of 0.1%.
Environmental and durability:
The coating meets the durability requirements of MIL-C-675C including severe abrasion as per Para 3.8.4 and MIL-PRF-13830B.
